September Apprentice of the Month - Pierrick Madelon

We are happy to announce the winner of the LDN Apprentice of the Month is Level 4 Salesforce Apprentice, Pierrick @ Soil Association!

Nominated by LDN Skills Coach James, Pierrick’s passion for learning and mastering the intricacies of Salesforce has made him a driving force behind innovative business processes and has become a real asset to the team.

Check out Pierrick's winning Apprentice of the Month nomination along with our other fantastic nominations below!

Pierrick’s Skills Coach:

I would like to nominate Pierrick who has been outstanding since day one. He is doing his level 4 Business Analyst apprenticeship in his second language, and has passed both his functional skills Maths and English first time round, with a flying tricolore.

His projects are of a very high standard and he is well ahead on his work, possibly looking to finish before schedule. His commitment to his work and apprenticeship has been second to none, even traveling in to London for our development day all the way from sunny Bristol.

His managers and colleagues hold him in high regard, and he remains humbly confident throughout. He has an incredible amount of patience, even when dealing with my broken attempts at French, and his resilience is remarkable. His role is a challenging one but he makes it look effortless.

Pierrick’s Line Manager:

Energy: Pierrick has always displayed a lot of energy in the work he has taken on and is always willing to take on challenging projects. He has helped map out processes, set up many new processes and been a great asset to the forestry department.

Enthusiasm: Pierrick has shown great enthusiasm in his work and in learning everything about Salesforce.

Willingness To Learn: Pierrick has shown great willingness to learn all there is to know about Salesforce. He has taken to it like a duck to water. Sometimes he struggles but he works through it and finds a solution.

Ability To Take Feedback: Pierrick has always been willing to take feedback and, importantly asks questions when he needs to know more.

Propensity To Take Action: Pierrick is pro-active in taking on work. For example, picking up help desk tickets, without prompting.

An example of an outstanding piece of work that has benefited the team: Pierrick set up a process for approving Auditor qualifications. He set up a Flow that guided users through all the documents and other things required before the auditor could be signed off. He also set up a related approval process.

The new process has prevented auditors being submitted for approval without all the necessary things, saving time for the training manager. It helps guide those putting forward auditors for approval as the flow gives details of everything required and warnings where something is not present. The Flow was a challenge to build for someone new to Flows but Pierrick picked it all up quickly.

Our runner-up for this month is LDN Publishing Apprentice, Simona! Simona was nominated by LDN Skills Coach, Helen, with feedback provided by the team at DK.

Simona’s Skills Coach:

Simona has hit the ground running in a very challenging role at DK. She has shown flexibility and adaptability at every turn, and if knocked slightly off course by the volume of work or the immediacy and relentlessness of the deadlines, gets herself as quickly as she can back on it again.

She has recently taken in her stride a change of line manager, and her new line manager, who is the Director of the team, is totally delighted with her work within the team to date, saying they cannot remember a time that Simona was not there - in a good way! She has developed really great relationships and has a hard job as a junior member of staff getting everyone to deliver what she needs when they are all so busy.

She has had to develop and practice great communication skills to do this. Simona is an enthusiastic member of the cohort, happy to speak up at Live Sessions, keen to progress her work, and always bursting with enthusiasm about the programme and what she is learning.

Simona’s line manager:

We are a busy team with lots going on, and Simona's role is no different. But the energy that Simona brings to everything she does is infectious. She is highly personable and has developed outstanding relationships with everyone in the team in a short amount of time. She comes to work with a smile on her face and brightens up even the most mundane tasks! She is supportive of the work the team is doing and is a great ambassador for our division outside of the team. This is no small feat in such a short amount of time.

Here’s what was said about the other fantastic nominees:

Erin Marsh @ NBrown:

Erin has not only excelled in her learning but has also fostered strong relationships and gained confidence within our office environment. Erin consistently approaches each task with a positive attitude, never hesitating to take on challenges and consistently delivering work to a high standard. Her unwavering commitment to her role is highly commendable, and her keen interest in the field is both inspiring and promising.

Brandon Chikota @ Daniel Owen:

When Brandon started, we were 3 weeks away from a rebrand and a new website. This can seem extremely daunting to even seasoned marketers but Brandon relished the chance to make his mark on an evolving business. I’m always pleasantly surprised by the tasks Brandon has completed just because he saw how it fit into the wider marketing goals. Brandon’s ability to take the myriad of requests (and feedback) we get and create fantastic results for all of them is outstanding and not an easy feat.

Lauren Pearse @ BBC:

Lauren brings an unwavering energy to our team that is both infectious and inspiring. She infuses our workplace with positivity and motivation. Lauren approaches every task with genuine enthusiasm. She has an innate ability to ignite excitement in our department, making every project more enjoyable. Her contributions have enriched our workplace, and I have no doubt that she deserves this recognition.

Olivia Campbell @ DK:

Olivia has embedded herself into the team so much so, that it's hard to remember what it was like without her. She has taken everything that is thrown at her in her stride and always happy to help her fellow colleagues. She always does the tasks to the best of her ability and always with a smile on her face. Olivia is willing to learn and with her inquisitive nature she is making connections with the wider business, which is great to see.

Tatiana Rodenas Garcia @ Acciona Industrial:

Tatiana consistently demonstrates energy and enthusiasm in her role. She is highly committed to the successful delivery of the social value workstream on the project and uses her energy and enthusiasm to engage wider team members in supporting the delivery of our activities. She also gets involved with other workstreams to build new skills and continue to learn and grow professionally. Tatiana is absolutely fantastic – very glad to nominate her!
