The LDN Sustainability Professional programme equips professionals with the skills, knowledge and behaviours to lead impactful sustainability and social value initiatives and drive change within their organisations.

Designed by industry experts and award-winning consultancy MH&A, the apprenticeship features a state-of-the-art curriculum designed to support apprentices in becoming sustainability change makers.

Developed in collaboration with the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) – formerly known as IEMA, the programme embeds key technical knowledge and explores how organisations can mitigate risk and capture sustainability-related opportunities, such as those linked to climate change.

In partnership with

Thanks to our collaboration with ISEP, all learners will receive free Affiliate membership while studying, giving them access to a wealth of resources and a supportive professional network. The programme also provides a clear pathway to ISEP Associate level, the entry-level professional recognition for individuals starting their career in sustainability.

Learners will benefit from:

  • Access to ongoing learning and a community of like-minded professionals to support their development.

  • The opportunity to progress to ISEP Associate level by completing their apprenticeship and passing the fully funded Associate exam.

  • Earning the AISEP professional suffix and a fully funded first year of Associate membership if successful.

    Apprenticeship Assessment

    Assessment method 1: Work-based project
    Assessment method 2: Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.

    Who’s it for?

    Perfect for upskilling existing employees working in ESG, sustainability, social value, community and employee engagement, DE&I. Also suitable for training up young professionals looking to start their career within similar roles.

    To apply you’ll need to:

    • Prove your right to work in the UK
    • Be a UK citizen, or have lived in the UK or EEA continuously for the past 3 years
    • Be able to apply the learning to your role
    • Not have previously studied the course content
    • Not undertake any other government-funded qualification during your apprenticeship

  • Low Case Loads

    Each LDN Sustainability Professional Skills Coach has a maximum case load of 30 learners. Significantly better than the industry standard.

  • Monthly Inductions

    We hold monthly inductions for all LDN Sustainability Professional apprentices, so start at a time that suits you.

  • Professional Membership

    All LDN Sustainability Professional apprentices receive free membership of ISEP.

  • Industry Experts

    LDN Sustainability Professional Skills Coaches have experience in the industry, so LDN apprentices can learn from the very best.

  • Up-to-date Content

    Our in-house Content Team are always updating and refreshing the course content to keep content up-to-date and relevant in a fast-moving industry.

  • Understanding the frameworks, policies and standards that shape sustainable practices.

  • Building an impactful strategy to enhance organisational resilience and performance.

  • Learn project management methods to drive impactful sustainability outcomes.

  • Working with key stakeholders to foster collaboration, align on priorities and create impactful initiatives.

  • Data management, data analysis and the application of emerging technologies to measure and improve performance.

  • Essentials of using data for effective reporting and focused and transparent communication.

  • Future proofing of sustainability strategies, developing best practices, and fostering a proactive learning culture.

The LDN Sustainability Professional apprenticeship already gives learners the core knowledge, skills and behaviours to lead sustainability and social value work in their organisation.

For learners who want to go further, our short online sustainability courses offer the opportunity to explore specific topics in more depth. These optional courses complement the apprenticeship content and give learners a flexible way to build confidence in areas that are especially relevant to their role, interests or organisation.

Each course can be taken independently, allowing learners to personalise their development and continue building their sustainability knowledge alongside the programme.
