AI and automation are creating new opportunities to improve how organisations work, solve problems and deliver better outcomes. To make the most of these opportunities, individuals and teams need the skills to identify where these technologies can add value and apply them responsibly and effectively.

The LDN AI and Automation Expert apprenticeship builds practical AI and automation capability, equipping apprentices with the knowledge, technical understanding and confidence to turn real workplace challenges into effective solutions.

Through hands-on learning, apprentices develop the ability to identify opportunities, design and test automations and AI-enabled workflows, and work with stakeholders to support adoption. They also build the responsible judgement needed to manage risk, support colleagues through change and create lasting value for their organisation.

Who is it for?

The LDN AI and Automation Expert apprenticeship is ideal for employees who are, or will be, identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working through AI and automation.

It is designed for people who need to go beyond using AI tools in their day-to-day work. Learners develop the technical understanding, practical skills and responsible judgement to explore business challenges, design and test solutions and support their successful adoption.

The programme is particularly suited to individuals working across different teams and departments who have opportunities to review processes, work with stakeholders and turn AI and automation opportunities into practical workplace improvements.

Learners could be:

  • Team members who review processes, identify inefficiencies or explore opportunities to improve how work gets done.

  • Employees who work with different teams and departments to understand business challenges and gather requirements.

  • People who have opportunities to design, configure or adapt AI-enabled workflows and automations.

  • Employees who can test solutions, gather feedback and make improvements before wider rollout.

  • Professionals who will support pilots, training and the responsible adoption of new tools and ways of working.

  • Team members who can monitor performance, manage risks and help demonstrate the value created through AI and automation.

    Each LDN AI and Automation Expert Skills Coach has a maximum caseload of 30 learners. Significantly better than the industry standard.

    Apprenticeship Assessment

    Assessment method 1 - Complete a real project based on an AI and/or automation solution within the workplace.
    Assessment method 2 - Complete a presentation or professional discussion based on an AI and/or automation solution that has implemented.

    To apply you’ll need to:

    • Prove your right to work in the UK
    • Be a UK citizen, or have lived in the UK of EEA continuously for the past 3 years
    • Be able to apply the learning to your role
    • Not have previously studied the course content
    • Not undertake any other government-funded qualification during your apprenticeship
