Check out all the brilliant nominations we received in September, as well as Sadie’s winning nomination below.
Sadie’s Skills Coach:
Sadie has developed into a valuable asset for her team at Amazon. She has a high sense of responsibility and consistently delivers the highest standards.
Sadie has been able to earn the trust of her direct team but also of other senior stakeholders in international partner teams. What’s more, Sadie has been stepping up and proactively supporting more senior peers and even helping them to meet their commitments. What is most impressive is that Sadie is one of the first few Amazon apprentices to get to End Point Assessment (ahead of schedule)! This is indicative of her hard work and commitment to her apprenticeship. Well done Sadie!
Here’s what was said about the other brilliant nominees:
Zoe Ball @ TeachFirst
Digital Learning Designer
Since starting her apprenticeship, Zoe has already been promoted to line manage a new team. She has already led ITT training and the Summer Institute Build projects. She has applied her learning design experience to analyse needs for the Effective Design Resource Bank and prepare learning design squads for sprints. Zoe is continuously cheerful, navigating her new responsibilities and remaining on track with her apprenticeship. Her early portfolio drafts show evidence of synthesising multiple concepts and KSBs. She has often provided thought-provoking ideas and questions in live sessions within breakouts and the whole group.
Karen Linaker @ Wiltshire Council
Community Engagement Academy
Karen is hard-working and dedicated. She has a remarkable thirst for knowledge and reflects on learning to strengthen best practice within her team and beyond. Karen stays on top of her training plan and goes the extra mile with evidence pieces, incorporating video clips to bring these to life and capture impact. Karen's journal entries show strong links to the KSBs and highlight the wide-scale impact she creates. Karen engages in all Masterclasses and creates a safe space for others to share ideas. Despite balancing an extremely busy role with the apprenticeship, Karen has recently given her time to support by sharing feedback on CEA online content to support learning for future cohorts! It would be fantastic for Karen to be recognised and appreciated through this award!
Luke Brady @ University of Hertfordshire
Digital Learning Designer
Luke has gone above and beyond in his apprenticeship. He’s stepped up as a go-to expert for digital learning design, leading ThingLink training sessions and supporting colleagues ahead of key deadlines. Luke has shown real initiative—creating resources, improving accessibility standards, and even developing a quality assurance guide to raise departmental practice. He’s also embraced an ambassador role, representing apprentices and sharing ideas to support others. His enthusiasm, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to take ownership have made a tangible difference in his workplace and learning journey. Luke truly deserves Apprentice of the Month for his impact and commitment.
Amelia Toogood - Mediterranean Shipping Company
Multi-Channel Marketer
Throughout her apprenticeship, Amelia has demonstrated precision, focus, and timeliness. Amelia's portfolio has been a constant showcase of well-designed and informative evidence, handed in on time, every time. In workshops with other apprentices, Amelia has always stepped up to support and guide conversations, as well as take the lead and put herself in the speaker position. She is a walking, talking definition of professionalism and confidence. Amelia is an easy candidate for this award and destined for great things in her future.
Harvey Eaton @ Bloomsbury
Publishing Professional
Harvey is excelling at Bloomsbury. He has taken on extra responsibilities due to the volume of work and colleague absences both enthusiastically and with aplomb. He asks great questions and is always keen to know more. Along with fellow apprentices, he has been core to bringing new energy to the Bloomsbury Pride group. Having enjoyed and learnt a lot from a Carbon Literacy Course at Bloomsbury, he volunteered to and then ran the same course for others. He is keen to try every new experience and share that enthusiasm with others, and is driving fantastically through all the apprenticeship tasks.
Dawn Colfer @ Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
Digital Learning Designer
Dawn has developed a whole new training strategy for the decontamination department using her expertise. It's already started to show improvements and engagement with compliance and keeping technicians compliant. Dawn is consistently pushing herself outside of her comfort zone and strives to deliver digital learning to a high standard, not only for herself but also for the NHS.
Teoné Burridge @ Haringey Council
Community Engagement Academy
Teoné has consistently demonstrated exceptional resilience and adaptability since starting the apprenticeship. Teoné has demonstrated this through taking on the challenge of improving engagement (and outcomes) for parents in Haringey. Despite the pressures of her role, she has embraced challenges with determination and professionalism, making a meaningful difference to the community. Alongside this, Teoné has successfully led an educational grant scheme, ensuring that young people living within the borough can access support that would otherwise be out of reach. Her apprenticeship work and assignments are not only thoughtful and reflective but also driven by a genuine commitment to continuous improvement. Teone’s dedication, creativity, and impact make her an outstanding apprentice and a truly deserving apprentice of the month.
