Ask an LDN Apprentice - #NAW2023

This week marks the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2023!

In previous years, we’ve used National Apprenticeship Week as the perfect opportunity to share success stories from LDN apprentices and LDN Alumni - highlighting the skills and experiences apprentices have acquired each year across the UK.

This National Apprenticeship Week, we’re introducing a new focus. Inspired by this year’s theme ‘skills for life’, we caught up with Level 3 Digital Marketing and Business Admin apprentices to showcase the benefits apprenticeships bring to individuals.

We talked to Shaun, Limia, Diana and Ava to find out what benefits they’ve identified whilst being on programme with LDN and to see what advice they had for anyone looking to kickstart their career with an apprenticeship.

Shaun Hennell

Apprenticeship Qualification:
Lvl3 Digital Marketer

Currently:
Digital Marketing Apprentice at On The Tools

Shaun is part of the first cohort in our collaboration with the BBC’s Apprentice Hub and within five months, has already been exposed to a variety of tasks ranging from campaign management to email outreach!

Thanks to the skills Shaun has learned while on programme, he has been able to assist the team with copywriting and video editing to produce top-quality social media content.

With a passion for the digital industry, find out why Shaun recommends anyone to explore apprenticeships as an alternative career route to traditional education in his very own introduction video.

Limia Aburunnat

Apprenticeship Qualification:

Currently:
Logistics Assistant Apprentice at Doccla

After reaching month eight of her apprenticeship, Limia spoke to us about her day-to-day life as an LDN Business Admin apprentice.

Limia decided to start an apprenticeship due to wanting a balance between studying and gaining valuable work experience and since joining the team at Doccla, Limia has achieved exactly that!

Using the topics and tools covered within her apprenticeship learning content, Limia has been able to implement beneficial changes within her role and the wider business - all whilst becoming one of LDN’s Class Reps and supporting her fellow Business Admin cohort!

Discover what advice this experienced Class Rep has for future apprentices in her insightful introduction video.

Diana Cocu

Apprenticeship Qualification:

Currently:
Recruitment Apprentice at Tempest Resourcing

School leaver Diana first discovered LDN after deciding sixth form wasn’t the route for her!

After exploring her options, Diana was certain an apprenticeship would provide her with the transferable skills she needed to thrive within the world of administration and project management.

Only having joined the programme three months ago, Diana is already starting to experience the benefits of starting an apprenticeship such as the opportunity to network with industry professionals.

But what other benefits are there to starting an apprenticeship? Diana gave us the low down on apprentice life in her introduction video.

Ava D'Amaro

Apprenticeship Qualification:

Currently:
Post-production Apprentice at Warner Bros

Working at entertainment giant Warner Bros is no mean feat for Post-production Apprentice, Ava!

From inbox management to timesheet schedules, Ava outlined some of the typical tasks she supports the post-production team with on a daily basis as an apprentice.

Being able to witness all stages of a TV show or film come together is a huge motivator for Ava as she continues to juggle both her work and apprenticeship diary.

Ava is an excellent example of the incredible opportunities an apprenticeship has to offer as she shares her LDN experience in her friendly introduction video.
