Welcome to the LDN Youth Hub

Based in the heart of Stockwell, LDN Apprenticeships have been helping young people from Lambeth to develop their soft skills and confidence for over ten years! But we’re not slowing down any time soon…

Introducing the LDN Youth Hub in collaboration with the Lambeth Made Youth Promise!

The LDN Youth Hub will help Lambeth residents aged 25 and under get onto the right career path. Whether needing help looking for courses, finding fantastic work opportunities, an apprenticeship, or just making the right choices; the Lambeth Made Youth Promise will be there to support.

We’re working with a range of awesome local employers to help young Lambeth residents get where they need to go, as well as offering 1-2-1 IAG (information, advice and guidance) to all the young people we meet. The Hub is based at our fantastic HQ in Stockwell and is open for anyone to drop in or to schedule some time with our IAG Team.

To celebrate the launch, we spoke with Youth Hub Manager Amma Appiah. Amma has been in the field of Youth Work for almost 10 years. With first-hand experience in providing support and mentoring young people from disadvantaged backgrounds across London.

‘LDN works to give young people the same opportunity; that all-important experience and a foot into the industries they have an interest in. I joined the team here because I want to be a part of what they are striving to achieve’ said Amma.

‘My work now focuses on assisting young people to plan and take steps towards the future they want for themselves. Our Youth Hub – part of the Lambeth Made Youth Promise - aims to provide a wrap-around support service for young people that isn’t just coming from one space.

‘If a young person knows exactly where they want to go, but are having trouble breaking into a specific industry, we put them in touch with organisations that will help them and talk through the different ways to explore their interests to make better-informed decisions.’

So, what’s in store for the LDN Hub?

‘There are so many organisations serving the Lambeth community and doing amazing work, so why not collaborate to support young people better?

‘With all the young people I’ve worked with over the years, I still get excited when thinking about the different people they could become; the places they’ll go and the things they’ll do!

‘I’m also still humbled by the barriers they have to overcome and the work they put in to do just that. Let’s be honest, the current working climate isn’t the most welcoming one, so the more helping hands and steppingstones available to support young people, the better’ added Amma.

You can meet Amma and the wonderful Youth Hub Team every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from11:30 am to 4:30 pm.
