Millie’s Skills Coach:

I would like to nominate Millie because she has from day 1 been fully locked into her apprenticeship. Her journals, training plan and assignment work is alway on time, I never have to chase for overdue work or journals. Millie is always wanting to do better and is very driven with her work at Softcat and her apprenticeship work. Millie reaches out to ask how she can create a better assignment and what stronger evidence she can use. Millie was very active and engaging in her group task in the In-Person Development Day and really worked well with her group to create a project idea. Millie wants to be the best in everything she does and this shows in abundance. Millie really deserves the apprentice of the month as she has all the values we look for in an apprentice! Millie is definitely setting the standards as an apprentice and is showing the way for other BA apprentices at Softcat! Travelling to different Softcat offices at the age of 19 and presenting to colleagues, showcasing confidence and a winning, can-do mentality. Millie has also volunteered to present at the next live session - again, leading the way in her Softcat cohort! There is only 1 winner here guys!! And she goes by the name Millie Bowen!! 😊

Here’s what was said about the other brilliant nominees:

Katie Gill @ a British media company

I would like to nominate Katie for Apprentice of the Month in recognition of her outstanding contribution across campaigns and platforms. Katie plays an integral role within the social media team, confidently supporting meetings, creating high-quality social assets and contributing innovative ideas. She has taken on increased responsibility in radio planning, event branding and merchandise selection, working effectively to budgets and briefs. Katie deserves particular credit for her work on the ‘Made Of’ Titanic activation, which achieved viral success. Her professionalism, initiative and growing expertise make her a truly deserving nominee.

Freya Rice @ Amazon

I would like to nominate Freya for the fantastic level of professionalism, resilience, and confidence she has shown from such an early stage of her apprenticeship and career. Freya has faced matters head on, showing a maturity past her years to ensure she gets the very best experience from her apprenticeship.

Freya is never afraid to reach out for my opinion, and puts equal amount of effort into her apprenticeship work. It is always a pleasure when meeting up with Freya each month, knowing everything will be on track and we will be able to spend our time discussing future development.

I have absolutely no doubt Freya will go far in her professional career.

Elisabeth Mitchell @ Surrey County Council

I would like to nominate Libby for Apprentice of the Month for her brilliant progress since joining the programme in September 25. Libby has grown noticeably in confidence, something that has also been recognised by her manager at work. She is always keen to develop, regularly asking for feedback and acting on it straight away. This is clearly shown in her evidence pieces, which continue to improve in quality and depth. Libby takes ownership of her learning, comes to sessions prepared, and has never fallen behind on her training plan or evidence. Her commitment and attitude truly stand out.

Toby Carroll @ Pan Macmillan

Toby is an apprentice who has suddenly found his groove in life! Toby moved into publishing from events and so is only seven months into a brand new industry. He has found his feet quickly in a demanding role. His line manager, Rebecca, recently reported an exceptional couple of months, dealing with tricky projects and tackling last-minute challenges including multiple people requesting conflicting changes. He has handled everything excellently. He has also seized a chance to develop an AI tool, enabling the team to improve the quality of their publishing, and he will now present and share this idea with the team. Meantime Toby brings humour and insight to all our group sessions and 1-to-1s. He is enthusiastic about everything in his new career – ‘I love this role!’ was his latest statement when we talked together about future career plans!

Edward Walker @ Unipart

I’d like to nominate Teddy for Apprentice of the Month, as he’s grown so much since starting his apprenticeship. When he began, he wasn’t quite sure how much impact he could make in his role, but he’s been incredibly proactive and enthusiastic, reaching out to different teams to support sustainability projects and taking ownership of new processes to support supply chain compliance.

His evidence pieces have improved hugely as well. He initially found the KSBs/criteria tricky to get his head around, but more recently he’s submitted some really strong pieces of evidence, which has been great to see.

He’s always on track with his learning and is brilliant at communicating any changes or updates I need to be aware of, which makes a real difference. He contributes well in live sessions and it would be great to give him recognition for how much progress he’s made.

Amy Cole @ Aosphere

Amy Cole is a fantastic nomination for Apprentice of the Month thanks to the positive impact she is already making on ESG at Aosphere. While undertaking her apprenticeship alongside her full-time role as London Office Manager, Amy has proactively translated her learning into tangible business impact. She led the creation of a comprehensive ESG Environmental Policy, introduced mechanisms to reduce carbon emissions, and consolidated bi-annual board reporting, saving senior leaders significant time. Amy has also shaped company-wide policies on corporate responsibility and charitable giving, delivering measurable cost and carbon savings. Her initiative and ownership consistently go beyond her role, demonstrating real leadership and commitment.

Sasha Bateman @ Amazon

I'd like to nominate Sasha not least because of the impact that she has made to her team. LM Feedback, "Sasha has developed improved operating mechanisms for the team, globally, leveraging Monday.com’s tools to streamline the flow of information critical to campaign delivery in a way that supports autonomous work across teams and timezones. These mechanisms will reduce operational complexity, saving time and reducing errors. It’s not easy getting an entire team to change the way they work, but Sasha has earned the team’s trust along the way, navigating challenges and incorporating feedback into a solution that works for everyone, both within the company and with our agencies. Sasha also developed a campaign around the MOBO Awards around two angles. Firstly, marketing the livestream of the major award show that has exceeded goal. This has helped build trust both internally as well as externally, on this highly visible project sponsored by our S-Team leadership. The learnings from this activation is being bled into all 2026 livestream go-to-market plans, from media planning to engaging with livestream hosts. In addition, Sasha developed a strong growth campaign aimed at maximising the partnership with the MOBO Awards, celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary to launch a nostalgia driven campaign that resonates with our core target audience. The campaign has become the best performing campaign of the year so far, and is currently on track to become an always on-campaign that drives performance throughout the year. " Sasha's commitment an enthusiasm stretches beyond her immediate apprenticeship work and clearly has had an overwhelmingly positive impact on her team!
